What is a client portal?
A portal is a branded page at your own subdomain (like acme.modulat.co) or a custom domain you own. You choose what goes on it: prototype links, any URL, rich notes, embedded videos, and downloadable files, arranged into sections. Share it by link, and lock it with a password if you like. Use one per client, per project, or for an internal team.
How do I add files to a portal?
Open the portal builder in the dashboard, choose Add to portal, and pick File. Drop in a PDF, an image, a zip, whatever you're handing off, and it appears as a clean download card on the portal. Add as many as you like, up to your plan's storage.
What's the file size limit?
Up to 25 MB per file. For anything larger, like a long video or a heavy asset pack, link it from where it already lives. Modulat embeds Loom, YouTube, Vimeo, and Figma, and turns any other URL into a tidy link.
How much storage do I get?
Storage is per account and pooled across all your portals: Solo 5 GB, Studio 25 GB, Agency 100 GB. The Free plan is for links and doesn't include file uploads.
What file types can I upload?
PDF, PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, WebP, ZIP, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, TXT, and CSV. The accepted list can be extended over time, so if you need another format, just ask.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on paid plans. Point a domain you own (like portal.yourstudio.com) at a portal and the whole thing, the page and its links, runs on your brand. Every portal also gets a free branded subdomain to start.
Can I password-protect a portal?
Yes. Add a password in the portal's settings and visitors get a branded unlock screen before they can see anything. You can protect individual links the same way.
